Long time no see guys I'm back

Well hi there everyone , I've been away a while and have been very busy.  I have been helping my friend Helen at her vintage shop Knit move to bigger better premises.  We have also been working on our new range Rethought-rebought, which is our way of crafting and sewing and just loving it.  We are re-inventing vintage and vintage inspired clothes and putting our unique footprint on them.  So far it's gone very well and we have our first showcase in August so we are both very busy getting ready for it. Exciting is not the word and I will post a link very soon.  Please have a look at some of our work and let me know what you think.  It's good to be back, hope you are all OK love Jane xx

My vintage way of doing things

Good afternoon all, at last the snow has melted in my little part of the world.

We decided to make the most of the lovely, welcoming sunshine, so after going for a lovely breakfast at Hawarden farm shop, we decided to make a visit to Lady Heyes in Frodsham.  If you are looking for a day to have a really good mooch around, then this is the place for it.

It comprises of at least ten units, which house possibly everything you can think of, from 50's retro (a great little coffee table from that era that I have my eye on) to beautiful Victorian lace and everything in between.

I am so inspired with the upcycle trend and as part of it, I started collecting old wooden cotton reels last year and thanks to my daughter for my gorgeous Christmas present, my collection has truly grown.  But they are too beautiful to hide away so I have posted a few picks on my idea of displaying them.  I hope you like them.

I am at present working on some crochet flowers, which I will post very soon. They are soooo cute and I can't wait to share them.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Love Jane xx

New Year's Eve and I'm starting to think already....

Well hello all, I have just waved my youngest daughter, Charlotte off. If you read my blog you will know that she lives in Falmouth studying Graphic Design at Falmouth and Exeter university. However, she is firstly staying at her boyfriend, Joe's house in Cheltenham.

So now that my nest is once again empty, my thoughts are pointing to next year's projects for sale. I feel I let people down this year as I ran out of time so was unable to give out the craft baskets to my friends, who then take them to work and sell my wares.

I am also going to start my remembrance poppies earlier too, for the same reason. I was going to show you some of my Christmas makes but they are on my i phone but not on my i mac grrrrr. So I thought I'd put a couple of gorgeous pics from the paper this week.

Happy New Year everyone. Luv Jane xx

Ps here are some of my creations ...didn't have my wi-fi on oops

Please Santa help me to take better photos ...... Please?

art as life: warm and cozy

Morning everyone and a merry Christmas to you and yours.  I hope that you are all enjoying this wonderful day.  It really is peaceful here at the moment.  My eldest daughter Sofi is busy preparing our Christmas dinner at her lovely little house in Chester.  My youngest daughter Charlotte is home from uni in Falmouth so as she's a student she's allowed to be asleep and my hub is asleep as he has a horrible virus.  I haven't asked Santa for anything other than to please let me take pictures as beautifully as the lady in this link does.  Don't get me wrong I have plenty of advice on hand. Sofi is a Graphic Designer, Charlotte will be a Graphic Designer by June and my husband is well he's just a master at everything.  I am not very technical so I am lucky to have an i phone and an i pad so I can take pics with either and then just link them to my blog, but I'm sure that when people read my blog they take a quick look at the pics and think "must try harder".  So my New Year ressy is to learn to take better pics.

Have a wonderful day whatever your plans love Jane

Gorgeous slippers for a cute little dude!

Morning all
If you read my blog you will know that I love my knit club at my friend's wonderful vintage knit shop 'knit' in Shotton.

We meet every Friday morning at 10.30 and although it's supposed to finish at 12 noon, I'm always still there with most of the ladies until gone 2pm.  Must mention that thanks to 'THE best boss in the world' Dan I no longer work Fridays.

However I digress, one of the ladies, Rachael, who is mum to four has knitted the cutest slippers ever for one of her little boys.  I know you will love them as much as I do.

I am working on some new projects at the moment and will post pics when they are done.  In the meantime enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing.

Love Jane xx

Poppies, poppies, poppies update!

Hi all, just a quick update, thanks to the kindness of all my work colleagues and their friends, my daughters and their friends, we have raised £69.00 for the Poppy Appeal and I understand there is another £10 on its way so thank you to everyone.

Have a fab weekend everybody, love Jane xxx

Poppies Poppies Poppies!

Oh my goodness.... I decided to make some poppies for Remembrance Sunday and grandly produced sixteen, which disappeared all in one day. Since then I've made at least twenty more, which have all been snapped up too! I'm going to be making them in my sleep the way it's going. Every time my hub walks in I'm furiously crocheting. As soon as this is over I'll be straight onto my Christmas projects. I've already had orders for flower brooches as presents so I'll still be crocheting in my sleep. But I love it really, can't even think about just sitting without a project. I love nothing better than getting home from work, feeding my dog and three cats and then snuggling in with my project.

My dad played a vital part in WW2 and although he has passed away I am eternely grateful to him and all the brave men and women who fought so hard for our freedom. God bless them.

Hope everyone is happy. Not long until Christmas, where did this year go?

Love to all Jane xxx
